CGI scripts can be used on any platform. But generally they run on a UNIX server that has a Perl program installed on it. Many of the CGI scripts can be ported to Windows and Mac, using the Windows and Mac ports of Perl. However, certain scripts, specifically the HTTP Cookie Library, TextClock, TextCounter, and some others should work without any porting because they lack any Unix specific features. Assuming you are using a UNIX/Linux server continue the article.
