Parrot Virtual Machine v.0.4.6 Adds Support for Ruby and JavaScript

The Parrot development team announced that the latest build of the virtual machine includes "the begginnings" of Ruby and JavaScript implementations.  The regularly released monthly build also inlcudes a number of feature updates and bug fixes.


The Ruby and JavaScript implementations in Parrot are named respectively "Cardinal" and "ecmascript." The latest build (v.0.4.6), together with release notes and documentation is available at http://www.parrotcode.org/. 

Parrot was started by the Perl community and is developed with the help of the open source community.  Its ultimate goals is to run efficiently all dynamic languages like Perl, Python, Tcl, Ruby, Scheme, etc.
