NetManage, a software company that provides solutions for integrating, Web enabling and accessing enterprise information systems, announced the availability of RUMBA FTP 4.2, a graphical file transfer protocol (FTP) client featuring new upgrades, including support for additional IBM server modes, scripting capabilities and an enhanced user interface that will provide automation and consolidation for greater efficiency. NetManage RUMBA FTP combines ease-of-use with support for both SSH and SSL standards for secure file transfer in a standalone product.

NetManage RUMBA FTP 4.2 connects to a wide variety of FTP servers, including Unix/Linux, System i (AS/400), MVS, Windows and others. The enhanced feature set provides convenient functions for transferring files in a user-friendly and SSL-based environment. Customers can now automate repetitive transfers by consolidating multiple and individual transfers into a single macro script. Additionally, the customizable user interface provides drag and drop capabilities for local or remote file and folder transfers, as well as support for multiple remote sessions, enabling server-to-server transfers.

Upgrades to NetManage RUMBA FTP 4.2 include:

-- Scripting--Record or create file transfer macros to play back or edit; Automate file and folder management tasks with OLE automation scripts

-- Enhanced User Interface--Open multiple remote sessions simultaneously; Manage (create, edit, launch and disconnect) sessions in a single panel; Drag-and-drop file transfer

-- Support for Additional Server Modes--List and view System i and MVS files in a variety of formats. Support has been added for the IBM AS/400 Unix file listing format, the IBM AS/400 IFS Unix file listing format and IBM MVS in Directory Mode

"The new upgrades in NetManage's RUMBA FTP solution provide our customers with useful features for increased efficiency and usability," said Zvi Alon, chairman, president and CEO at NetManage, Inc. "With enhancements to our robust capabilities and expertise in host access and integration solutions, NetManage continues to fortify its position as a single provider of all connectivity needs."
