The Python developers are looking for a new bug tracker for the Python project, and want to run trials using various systems. They have announced an official Call for Trackers, and are currently accepting proposals from developers of bug tracking software.

Bug trackers are typically systems dedicated especially to managing problems (software bugs) with computer programs.  Bug tracking software allows the user to quickly enter bugs and search on them.

The Call for Trackers states that the Python development team is looking for an alternative to collaborative software development management system SourceFourge.  The team is "unhappy with SourceForge for several reasons," including "bad interface" and "lack of reliability."

Full announcement is at http://wiki.python.org/moin/CallForTrackers .
