Summer of Code Projects for Perl and Python Selected

25 Python-related projects have been selected for Google's Summer of Code initiative. The full list of projects has been posted on the Python wiki at http://wiki.python.org/moin/SummerOfCode.  The summaries for projects from last year are available at http://wiki.python.org/moin/SummerOfCode/2005.

Perl's five projects are listed at http://www.perl.org/advocacy/summerofcode/ .  Last year's projects are at http://www.perlfoundation.org/gc/grants/2005-googlesoc.html .

The Google Summer of Code is an annual program first held during the summer of 2005 in which Google made cash awards to students that successfully completed an open-source coding project during the summer.   The offcial website is at http://code.google.com/summerofcode.html .
