Python 2.5 Alpha 2 Released

The Python Software Foundation announced the release of the second alpha release of Python 2.5. Version 2.5 is the newest major release of Python.

The alpha release is not suitable for production use. It is being released to solicit feedback and help discover bugs, as well as allowing developers to determine how changes in 2.5 might impact them.

The new alpha version is available for download at http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.5/ . The final release of Python 2.5 is scheduled for August 2006.
