The Python Software Foundation (PSF) announced a weblog for posting news, requests for help, calls for discussion, organizational details, and PyCon-related news.  In the newsrelease about the new blog PSF admitted to not being pro-active in publisizing its activities.  The PSF blog aims to remedy that situation by providing the community with insights about what's going on.

The PSF Board has accepted a weblog policy that forms a set of guidelines about what can be posted there. No weblog editor has been appointed yet.  A call for editors has been posted and a selection process is under way.

The PSF is a non-profit membership organization devoted to advancing open source technology related to the Python programming language. It qualifies under the US Internal Revenue Code as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) scientific and educational public charity, and conducts its business according to the rules for such organizations.  Google and O'Reilly and Associates, Inc. are among its most prominent sponsors.
