VMLogix Partnership With XenSource Broadens Virtualization Platform Choices for ISVs and Enterprise IT Organizations

Addition of XenEnterprise V4 Support Further Underscores the Enterprise Strength and Virtual Platform Interoperability of VMLogix LabManager

August 13, 2007; 08:18 AM
VMLogix, a leading provider of virtual lab automation solutions that help software companies and IT organizations leverage virtualization to consolidate lab infrastructure and automate build and test processes, today announced a strategic partnership with XenSource, the leading provider of enterprise-class virtualization solutions based on the high-performance open source Xen virtualization platform. As part of this relationship, VMLogix is supporting XenEnterprise V4 in VMLogix's flagship product, LabManager. The combined solution will offer a cost-effective, enterprise-class alternative for virtual lab automation.

XenSources latest release of XenEnterprise, delivers a reliable, high performance and cost effective virtualization platform for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows and Linux servers. VMLogix LabManager provides enterprise-class virtual infrastructure management capabilities for these servers, allowing software and IT organizations to easily create, share and deploy multi-machine build and test environments to accelerate software delivery. The new partnership enables customers to easily leverage XenEnterprise with the powerful lab management capabilities from VMLogix to develop, test and deliver enterprise software more quickly, cost-effectively and reliably.

We are very strategic in the vendors we collaborate with, and VMLogix is an ideal partner in the test and development arena, said Simon Crosby, founder and CTO of XenSource. Test and development is a key area of growth for virtualization, and VMLogix LabManager is truly complementary with XenEnterprise, providing customers of any size with enterprise-class lab management capabilities.

VMLogix LabManager provides users with an innovative software lifecycle management solution that seamlessly works across diverse virtual machine platforms, including XenEnterprise V4, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2, VMware ESX 3.0, VMware Server 1.0.3, and physical machines. Without vendor lock-in, enterprise customers and independent software vendors have an extensive choice of virtual platforms for building and testing applications with full process control across change, release and quality management activities.

We are committed to continually providing our customers with a vast choice of virtualization platforms for virtual lab management, said Ravi Gururaj, founder and CTO of VMLogix. With the XenSource partnership and product integration with XenEnterprise V4, we expect accelerated adoption of our virtual lab automation solution from both existing XenSource customers as well as those companies new to the virtualization opportunity.

VMLogix allows IT and software development resources to be used more effectively while dramatically accelerating the rate at which build and test scenarios can be executed by global development teams. As a result, enterprises with geographically distributed teams can make lean software development governance a reality through LabManager with the centralization of enterprise IT resources supporting development activities, facilitation of self-service access to these resources, and alignment of IT with business needs through policies and access controls.

VMLogix LabManager with XenEnterprise V4 support will be showcased at VMworld 2007, September 11-14, in San Francisco. To schedule on-site briefings, please contact Mark Angelo at (617) 455-7750.
