Network Physics Releases New Troubleshooting Solution for Small Enterprises

May 9, 2007; 05:47 AM
Network Physics, the leader in real-time application performance insight, today announced the immediate availability of the Network Physics NetSensory Rover, a virtual appliance packaged as an easily downloadable software solution and based on the company’s NetSensory Enterprise 6.0 software, the industry's first real-time network-wide application performance management solution. NetSensory Rover, packaged as a virtual appliance, is ideally suited for customers wanting to roam across multiple locations or application environments and for tactical troubleshooting in remote sites without the burden of an appliance form factor.

Today's announcement continues Network Physics' drive to provide the missing link in application performance with solutions that eliminate the guesswork and confusion that is prevalent with technologies that cannot provide real-time views into business application performance that are meaningful across management domains.

Designed for the VMware Server platform, the NetSensory virtual appliance is available directly from Network Physics or its authorized partners through a simple software download, enabling small business or enterprise users to solve their business critical application performance problems quickly. The offering is based on the features contained in Network Physics’ NetSensory Enterprise 6.0 software and empowers customers with the ability to drill down on application performance from a high-level business view all the way to granular network and application details with just a few clicks of the mouse. This capability is not offered by any other solution in the marketplace. Users are immediately given deep, real-time insight into their network and are able to discover, classify and monitor major enterprise applications such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and VoIP, as well as all the other applications running on their network, without programming or customization required.

A highlight of NetSensory Rover is application-specific NetSensory Insights that leverage the knowledge gained from customers in managing these applications on the network. These Insights feature specific views, drill-downs, and troubleshooting processes that will speed problem identification and mean-time-to-resolution, both of which are critical to realizing the maximum value from key business applications.

“The NetSensory virtual appliance will be a fantastic tool for us; we will be able to gain insight into the performance of our applications in key locations that was impossible before,” said Michael Evans, senior network and systems analyst, Colgate University. “Businesses of our size typically have smaller networks and resources, but that does not mean we don’t have the same application performance needs as larger companies. In fact, end user application performance directly impacts my business from day-to-day.”

“Network Physics continues to expand its portfolio of software solutions and help customers enhance application availability,” stated Kenny Frerichs, president and CEO of Network Physics. “Our unique and disruptive approach to bringing unprecedented insight into application performance greatly enhances the end user experience and drives greater business value over the long term. With NetSensory Rover, Network Physics now offers our customers and channel partners industry-leading solutions that can answer the business needs of customers regardless of size.”

Customers who purchase the NetSensory virtual appliance will receive a fully functioning Enterprise license for NetSensory Enterprise 6.0, one year of email product support, and attendance in a one-day instructor-led training class. They will also receive access to the Network Physics Insight Developers Kit at no additional cost which includes the full portfolio of Community Insights also announced today.

The Network Physics’ NetSensory Rover’s introductory price starts at $4,995. A no-cost five day trial-download is available at www.networkphysics.com/products/virtualappliance.
