Consumers, on both sides of the Atlantic, have a chance to test their Web 2.0 imagination with the launch today of WiseNav’s website building competition. The best site will win US$1,000 and there are four runner-up prizes of US$250. Each winner will also receive a year’s free web hosting.

WiseNav is also using the competition to test the benefits of its next version of software due to be released in the next few weeks.

The competition is open to anyone resident in Canada, the USA and the UK. All entrants have to do is create their own personal website, whether it's about their home, hobby, vacation, family, wedding, charity or small business. They will have until the end of April 21 to build the website – but it will probably only take a few hours. WiseNav will then review all the entries and pick the most exciting and creative web designs. Entrants will also be asked for their feedback on the way the next version of WiseNav works – in return for three months free hosting of their website.

Entries can be made by clicking on the competition link at www.wisenav.com

Mike Hensman, CEO of WiseNav Inc, said: "Web 2.0 is changing everything and WiseNav makes it possible for everyone to benefit. We will shortly be releasing version 3 of WiseNav/personal – the website tool that means your website is only limited by your imagination. We have set this challenge so that consumers can prove that version 3 really has removed the limitations of traditional website tools”.
