MicroEdge Releases Version 3 of GIFTS Plus Pack .NET Extension

MicroEdge, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS) and a leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, has released a third version of GIFTS® Plus Pack .NET Extension, a powerful set of tools for the GIFTS grants management solution. This newest version provides GIFTS users with seven new powerful, modular tools that are simple to integrate and ready to use.

According to MicroEdge Vice President Kevin Carlsten, "This latest version of the Plus Pack .NET Extension offers a very broad set of versatile modules that will enable GIFTS users to expand the functionality of their current configurations in a rapid and easy-to-use way. The response to this new product development and distribution effort has been remarkable, and it means that GIFTS users have a new way to get immediate access to new tools as soon as we develop them.”

Version 3 of GIFTS Plus Pack .NET Extension includes two new modules not available in version 2, and continues a product development direction for MicroEdge that allows easy connectivity to existing GIFTS versions. The new modules are GIFTS Reminders Plus and GIFTS Tax Status Plus.

Users make a one-time investment for the .NET Extension component, and then receive all modules in the Plus Pack at no additional cost as part of the MicroEdge maintenance and support program. To date MicroEdge has released seven .NET add-on modules:

  • GIFTS Email Plus
  • GIFTS Charts Plus
  • GIFTS Requirements Plus
  • GIFTS Batch Plus
  • GIFTS Payments Plus
  • GIFTS Reminders Plus
  • GIFTS Tax Status Plus

The two new modules add special functionality to GIFTS:

  • The Reminders Plus module automates follow-up to critical tasks by providing clients the ability to create reminder emails that will be sent automatically by their GIFTS system. Reminders can be created for Staff, Primary Contacts, Requirement or Activity Contacts or any recipient specified by the user.
  • The Tax Status Plus module offers functionality similar to Guidestar Lookup, but uses the IRS and Canada Revenue Agency databases. With this new module users will be able to verify and update an Organization’s Exempt Status which is a critical time-saver in the grants management process.
