Quest Software Introduces New Microsoft Operations Manager Monitoring Capability for Active Directory

Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT), known for its expertise in managing Microsoft Active Directory for more than 7,000 customers, now leads the industry in management of Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM). Today the company announced availability of the Quest Management Pack for ADAM. The new product, available at no charge, extends Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 to provide proactive performance monitoring and real-time diagnostics with a graphical topology view. The Quest Management Pack will help organizations detect, diagnose and resolve replication, performance and availability problems in ADAM environments. “Our customers are telling us that they are adopting ADAM for significant extranet and e-commerce applications,” said Jackson Shaw, senior director, product management, Quest Software. “They all want tools that provide them the highest level of administration, monitoring, diagnostics and recovery capabilities for these critical applications. We’ve taken the initiative to be the first to offer management solutions for ADAM with our recovery product, and now are continuing the momentum with the MOM management pack. We also have plans to add ADAM support to our other Active Directory management products.”

Similar to how the new MOM management pack extends MOM to monitor ADAM environments, Quest also extends MOM 2005 to provide deep monitoring, analysis and diagnostics of Active Directory with Quest Spotlight on Active Directory.

Last year Quest began its support for ADAM with Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory. These capabilities allow for fast, online restoration of ADAM data, as well as Active Directory and Group Policy data. Recovery Manager also includes comparison reporting and the centralized remote creation and management of System State backups.
