FootballSquares.com Launches Entertainment Game of a Squares Pool on the Web

FootballSquares.com, a web-based entertainment service that originated from the classic office pool game of football squares, has launched. Currently in "preview" mode, the fantasy sports service allows football fans to enhance game action by competing to win "fantasy dollars" as a participant and/or manager of football squares pools. From November 21, 2006 to January 3rd, 2007, FootballSquares.com will also host a contest that will award token prizes to the top three players who have the most fantasy dollars in their respective accounts as of January 3rd, 2007.

Created and developed by Aperio, a New York-based internet development company, FootballSquares.com uses the latest web-based technologies and viral marketing practices for this entertainment service. What started as an experiment to test Ruby-on-Rails, a web development platform, for other of its online ventures, the team at Aperio continued to build the FootballSquares.com service into a full-fledged multi-player online game. The company is currently seeking sponsors and partners for its sports squares entertainment services.
