Launch of PhotoUpLink for Windows Introduces Personal Area Publishing

September 24, 2007; 05:14 AM

Oakland, CA, September 24, 2007 -- PhotoUpLink for Windows is now available for download and purchase for $24.99 at http://www.photouplink.com. PhotoUpLink offers a variety of features to Windows users, for images, video, and other file types. PhotoUpLink for Windows has all features previously only available with PhotoUpLink for iPhoto and Aperture, also $24.99, on Mac OS X systems.

A complete FTP and SFTP feature set enables direct uploading of images to many image gallery web sites. Sending image and video binary data directly to any ODBC data source is now possible, including EXIF metadata. PhotoUpLink also integrates with Microsoft Office to create a PowerPoint presentation or Word document based on photos selected.

PhotoUpLink provides an easily integrated foundation feature set for potential co-branded or camera OEM distributors. The breadth of features available can enhance any software and hardware service provision. PhotoUpLink personal area publishing can improve group communication and minimize technical support costs.

Email is not designed to send multiple large files, such as those generated by a digital camera. To deliver these files, they must instead be uploaded to an FTP server. Most uploads are followed by notification to recipients of the location of the files. These users then must login and download the files. The process is not easy for the casual computer user – PhotoUpLink simplifies both the upload and download processes with an innovative email attachment that will import these files into a local Windows My Pictures folder with Windows PhotoUpLink installed. PhotoUpLink.Net is provided as a service to PhotoUpLink users to streamline this process further.

PhotoUpLink data features allow export of image information to Excel or an SQL database. ODBC export sends both EXIF metadata and the binary information of any group of images and video to any ODBC data source that supports binary large objects, including MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB 2 or Microsoft SQL Server. PhotoUpLink is a comprehensive, accessible media warehousing solution, available directly from the context menu.

The convenient panorama creator and QuickTime movie-joining tool round out the feature set of PhotoUpLink. Short QuickTime movies are often imported from many camera devices. Joining them together is possible by selecting them in PhotoUpLink and using the Effects section. Panorama creation is also available in Effects.
