AllTel to Offer New VPN Service Based on AccessMyLan for the Simplest VPN Service with No Hardware Investment

April 26, 2007; 08:21 AM
Asavie Technologies™, global leader in on-demand VPN services, today announced that Alltel Wireless (NYSE:AT), owner and operator of the largest network in the US, have included AccessMyLan™ in their preferred supplier portfolio. Coupled with Alltel’s Axcess Broadband/MobileLink services, AccessMyLan provides the easiest way possible for Alltel customers to connect to their office networks securely. The new VPN service will work with Alltel’s MobileLink data access cards from UTS/Starcom and Kyocera on laptops remotely accessing office PCs and servers.

"Having anywhere, anytime access to business information is of major importance for our customers," said Wade McGill, senior vice president of wireless product management for Alltel Wireless. "AccessMyLan enables Alltel the ability to provide a remote access experience to our customers with the security and performance they need."

AccessMyLan is a hosted service that provides the security and robustness of a traditional VPN, yet requires no additional hardware and no modifications to firewalls or software in the customer network. The service is completely managed and deployed from the AccessMyLan website, making it easy for even non-technical staff to operate from any location.

"We are thrilled to have Alltel as our US launch partner for AccessMyLan," commented Ralph Shaw, CEO of Asavie Technologies. "Their innovative product suite, broad geographic coverage, and large customer base are a perfect fit for AccessMyLan. We look forward to providing their customers with the ultimate in mobile data access security."

Alltel customers can get their risk-free 15 day trial of the service by contacting their Alltel sales representative or directly from the Alltel solutions website www.alltelsolutions.com. AccessMyLan for laptops, PCs, and servers is available for a monthly fee of $16.45 per user.
