March 23, 2007; 07:18 AM Compellent, a provider of affordable and modular enterprise storage
solutions, today announced it will join Novacoast, an IT professional
services firm, to demonstrate Novell ZENworks Orchestrator at Novell
Brainshare from March 18-23, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Novacoast’s
new Rapid Deployment Service for ZENworks Orchestrator, also launching
at BrainShare, will help customers quickly and easily deploy and manage
physical and virtual systems using ZENworks Orchestrator connected to
the Compellent Storage Center storage area network (SAN).
As
organizations grow, the need to simplify IT operations and maximize
resources escalates. Novacoast and Compellent specialists unified
Novell ZENworks Orchestrator virtualization management capabilities
with Compellent’s virtualized storage to demonstrate how customers can
dramatically lower costs for acquiring and managing IT assets, and
automate tasks for better efficiency. At BrainShare, ZENworks
Orchestrator will be used to manage virtual machines hosted on physical
servers running Xen virtualization software, accessing data and boot
images from the Compellent SAN. Event attendees can automatically
provision virtual systems, monitor performance, and simulate failovers
on the fly while managing multiple disks and heterogeneous storage
interfaces as a single pool of data in the Compellent Storage Center.
“Novell
is committed to delivering cross‑platform, heterogeneous solutions that
streamline day‑to‑day systems management from the desktop to the data
center,” said Alan Murray, vice president of product management at
Novell. “Novell's virtual machine management solution implemented by
Novacoast and backed by Compellent storage helps enterprise customers
further reduce complexity and maximize their technology investments.”
“Enterprises
big or small wrestle with the same data center pain points such as
increasing complexity and shrinking staffs and budgets,” said Bruce
Kornfeld, vice president of marketing for Compellent. “Compellent’s
open and flexible storage design allows customers in any server
environment to implement Novell’s open-source virtualization
initiatives and take back their data center.”
“We’re committed
to helping our customers improve the speed and efficiency at which they
operate,” said Adam Gray, chief technology officer of Novacoast.
“Novell’s virtualization blueprint is the framework that Novacoast uses
to help our customers manage their systems efficiently and solve IT
headaches. And Storage Center’s flexibility and ease of use, and
effortless integration with the ZENworks Orchestrator are all reasons
why Compellent is our preferred storage provider.”
Compellent
Storage Center seamlessly integrates with Novell platforms to ensure
unprecedented ease of use. Customers can quickly boot Novell servers
from the Compellent SAN, manage GroupWise storage on automated tiers of
disks, replicate iFolder data over low-cost IP lines and easily manage
patches, service pack testing and migration modeling.
Compellent
Storage Center included with Novacoast’s Rapid Deployment service for
Novell ZENworks Orchestrator will be available in the coming weeks,
when pricing is announced. Brainshare attendees can view the Novacoast
and Compellent ZENworks technology demonstrations and speak to product
managers at Compellent Booth 215 and Novacoast Booth 110. More
