November 27, 2006; 03:38 AM Network Appliance, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTAP), will highlight its disk-to-disk (D2D) solutions at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Conference in Chicago, IL November 26 – December 1, 2006. NetApp will demonstrate the capabilities of the NearStore Virtual Tape Library (VTL) solution, a backup appliance that appears as a tape library to a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) application. The NearStore VTL solution for PACS addresses three key concerns for PACS administrators: increasing performance and reliability of backup windows, simplifying backup management, and reducing D2D storage costs by up to 67% through the use of high-performance disk compression. The live demonstration will take place at the NetApp booth (#5418).
Additionally, NetApp and Emageon, a leader in enterprise medical information technology systems for hospitals and healthcare networks, will cosponsor a Monday Night Football event in conjunction with the conference at the ESPN Zone at 43 East Ohio Street, Chicago, IL on Monday, November 27 from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets for the event can be obtained in the NetApp and Emageon booths (#6530) at the RSNA Conference.
The RSNA Conference serves as a forum for the radiology community to come together to share ideas, explore the latest scientific advances, participate in educational courses, and view breakthrough technologies displayed in exhibitions. The purpose of the conference is to promote the highest quality of radiology practice through science and education. This year's theme, “Strengthening Professionalism,” is a compelling reminder of the radiology profession’s obligation to improve the standard of care in today's complex medical environment.
