The company, which hopes to reach a wider assortment of small to medium sized businesses with the new packages, had previously offered e-commerce services to select customers, but had never specifically advertised or promoted the offerings. Its new packages focus on support for the VirtueMart shopping cart system and Joomla! content management system (CMS), and start at only $26.95/monthly.

“As increasing numbers of small to medium sized businesses move toward Web-based sales platforms, there will be a heightened demand for specialty e-commerce hosting solutions,” said Doyle Lewis, BuyHTTP owner. “And by focusing heavily on support of integrated e-commerce applications, like shopping carts, SSL certificates, and content management systems, in addition to hosting, we have developed a distinctive edge over our competitors.”

Once customers order an e-commerce package, a shopping cart and integrated content management system will be installed for them, upon request, at no additional charge. Additionally, all future upgrades and software patches will be performed by BuyHTTP, so no technical expertise is required to operate the site.

Packages also include a free RocketTheme site template valued at $50.
