Wireless
standards like Bluetooth, 802.11 and ZigBee are as different as chalk
and cheese, with the result that until now designers who need to use a
variety of technologies have to redesign each new product from scratch.
That’s changed forever with EZURiO’s new UWScript, which simplifies the
integration of wireless technology for M2M communications and allows
product designers to switch their product designs from one wireless
technology to another with ease. UWScript condenses the thousands of
lines of complicated “C” code that are traditionally needed to create
wireless connections into a couple of lines of basic script
UWScript
is a truly transferable scripting language which can be used across any
wireless technology and is designed to sit in the firmware of existing
wireless modules. When used with EZURiO’s intelligent Wireless LAN
modules, UWScript utilises the processing power of the micro-processor
on the module to deliver complete host-free intelligent solutions. EZURiO’s
range of Wireless LAN modules, inventively named WISM (Wireless
Intelligent Serial Module), include all necessary drivers and TCP/IP
protocols along with a built in compiler. UWScripts can be written
directly on the module, creating application programs without the need
for an external development suite or processor.
Although
it has so far only been released in limited numbers to key customers
EZURiO has already seen an unprecedented level interest in its UWScript
enabled modules. “Since we announced UWScript to a select number of
customers and distributors, we have been inundated with requests for
samples. The demand has really taken us by surprise”, said Carl Baker – VP of Sales for Europe.
“The feedback we have already received from those who have evaluated
samples has been exciting; the ease of development and simplicity of
creating wireless communications has really sparked the market’s
interest”.
UWScript
is part of EZURiO’s rapidly expanding M2M wireless package and forms
part of a portfolio of solution creating elements. “We have listened to
our customers’ problems and issues with developing intelligent wireless
solutions In response we have created a true set of elements which are
combined to make a complete end to end solution. It makes wireless M2M
simple to implement, quick to bring to market and incredibly reliable”,
said Nick Hunn, CTO of EZURiO.
